Singing and dancing

Sitting on the sofa like a bigger girl, singing along with Mummy and Daddy.

Action songs!

Notice how my jammies are rather tight!

I am NOT sleepy...

Last night after coming home from church, she was so wide awake. Sitting up on the sofa by herself watching tv with Mummy and Daddy.

Look at the time! Way past bedtime..

Wriggled her way down the cushions.

I am not sleepy but I am so cute! After all that she finally fell asleep at 11 plus and slept till 1145 am. She was so zonko this morning!

Bumbo

Me in my Bumbo chair...

Disagreement

Here I am, talking to my poodle amiably while sucking my thumb like a big girl.

"Mummy, poodle said something mean to me, so I knocked her over!"

A Little Foot

I was in the kitchen the other day, hanging up the clothes when I heard Sophie fussing in the living room. I ignored her for a while and finished what I was doing. But when I came to look at her, this is what I saw! Her gym had fallen down around her. I put it up again and sat down with her for a few minutes and soon I discovered how it had happened. A little foot came out and pushed it down!!

Reading the comics with Uncle John

This could be an advertisement for the Star newspaper! By the way, who took these pics?

Vaccination

Today Sophie had her vaccination. We had planned to give her the 6-in-1 injection, but according to the polyclinic 'policy', we couldn't give that even though they carry it. So the poor girl had to have the 5-in-1 on one thigh and Hep B on the other thigh! Mummy couldn't bear to see her being jabbed, so Daddy had to hold her still. She yelled, of course, but only for a few minutes. I was scared that she would be grouchy the rest of the day and develop a fever, so I gave her paracetamol prophylacticly and she was actually quite good mood today! She has even gone to sleep early for once....

Ad for a job and a bit about me (for a change)

She so looks like a boy in this. Notice her hand holding on to the toy.
Check out the new hairstyle! The fringe actually looks a bit better than that. Hadn't styled it properly then. And I can fit into my old pair of capris! Happiness..... No more maternity jeans..

Milestone

Today Sophie sucked her thumb - properly. Before this she used to suck her whole fist or any of her fingers; and if she found her thumb she would suck it only momentarily. Today she sucked it properly and fell asleep doing so! For someone who usually takes a lot of milk milk and walking around and pat pat-ing to fall asleep that is quite something! She only slept for half an hour but even so... we are hopeful for great things!! :)

The deluge

Sohpie-pie has taken to licking our shirts. Look at the wet patch on Calvin's shirt!

It has finally stopped raining after raining day and night for 2 days and 2 nights. (What grammar!) Plus there has been so much extra laundry because of puke night this week. The result? Clothes strewn in the study under the fan to get dry.

On the plane

Oops! Forgot to turn the picture! Oh, well, turn your heads lah! This is Sophie on the plane back to Singapore.

Puking..

Last night was puke night! We had four, yes four episodes. The third one was in the middle of the night. She wouldnt' go back to sleep after milk milk and both of us were just too tired to pace the floors with her, so we lay down next to her, one each side, cuddle cuddle and let her scream! she screamed for about 10mins or so, then hiccup, hiccup and bleaaahh.... Change clothes, wipe her, wipe us, clean the bed... the pic on the left shows her being dryed after wiping her down. Look at the expression! I just left her in her cot after cleaning and changing her and she quietly went to sleep! Early in the morning we had another minor episode. So much laundry today!
The second pic was when I put her down in her cot today. She squirmed her way to the side of the cot. Initially she was lying facing auntie teresa's poodle.

chit chat

It looks like she is holding forth to her little bear on some important topic! We had a bad night last night, cos she woke up and screamed the house down - twice! Don't know whether it was because she had wind or gas in her tummy... but she wouldn't drink milk so had to walk around to pacify her. Thankfully Calvin took one shift.

Me and my auntie Teresa

Some pictures taken a long time ago (it seems like it!) when Sophie was only 4 weeks old! These are with Auntie Teresa of the pink poodle fame.

new tricks

Sophie has a couple of new tricks now. She can catch hold of the toy dangling from her gym and hold on to it for a few seconds. She can kick her rubber ducky off the side of her bath, (and this happens invariably every bathtime! ) and she reaches out to touch her mobile that hangs over her cot. We are waiting for her to turn over by herself. She can manage to tilt herself about 45 degrees so it should be anytime now. Her favourite toy at the moment is a little pink poodle that Auntie Teresa gave her for Christmas. She loves looking at it, and will coo and talk to it. Today she has been such a droopy bunny it was difficult keeping her awake and she actually went to bed at 7.30! It remains to be seen whether she will sleep through to tomorrow or whether I will have to pace the floors later tonight, but I am optimistic!
